Students from India, going to study in UK have a golden opportunity awaiting them. If you are a first time under graduate or post graduate in UK, the country permits you to work for 20 hours in a week during the term. They have also given Indian students the permission to work full time on holidays. This new rule is giving a lot of scope to Indian students in UK.
What the Official Has To Say
In this regard, the Times Of India quoted the UK Visas and Immigration official saying “From September, students who come from India, both for UG and PG courses, will be allowed to work, We're only trying to curb students who continue studying vocational courses (just) to work in UK.“ Additionally, students who want to continue studying in Britain, must show that it is contributing to their educational progress.
The new rules to apply for a Tier 4 student visa were announced with great clarity. Now, you can only apply for this visa, if you are 16 years or more in age, with an offer of a place in a course. The publicly funded colleges will not allow its students to work from August. Instead they can pick a course to study at the same level.
A Condition You Must Fulfill
This comes with a condition that you should be able to show a valid link between the previous and the new course. If the university is supportive of your claim then you can pursue the course. Other steps taken to ensure the validity are credibility interviews and ban on the universities that violate the rules. If you are not from an embedded college, UK does not permit you to extend your Tier 4 visa.
Those who want to study further in UK, must leave the country and apply from elsewhere.
