International recruitment campaigns resumed by Quebec

The province of Quebec in Canada has resumed foreign worker recruitment campaigns. The Government of Quebec and its different partners are gradually resuming their international recruitment efforts.

Journées Québec [Québec Days] features prominently among these efforts at bringing international talent to Quebec. Québec Days aims at bringing together businesses looking to hire overseas talent.

Online recruitment campaigns are being held by Quebec in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically targeting foreign workers, such online campaigns are being held for helping employers in the province fill labour shortages in the province. Such recruitment drives are also expected to support the province’s economic recovery post-coronavirus.

Led by the the Ministère de l’Immigration du Québec, the planned recruitment initiative – Journées Québec – by Quebec is supported by a network of representatives worldwide. These representatives are in various locations across the world, that is, in Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Rabat, Los Angeles, Dakar, and Mexico City.

Events planned over the previous 4 months had earlier been postponed in March in view of the COVID-19 situation.

New dates have now been scheduled. These include the following online events –

October 19 to November 6, 2020	Recruitment Mission by Montréal International Information technology, video games and artificial intelligence
October 26-30, 2020	Québec Tunis Days Health and multisector
November 3-6, 2020	Québec Sao Paulo Days Health sector
November 17-21, 2020	Québec Bogota Days Health and multisector
November 30 to December 5, 2020	Québec Paris Days Health and multisector
November 30 to December 8, 2020	Québec Mauritius and Madagascar Days Health and multisector
January 2021	Québec Dakar Days Health and information technology

The Journées Québec events let employers in Quebec review the available talent in a pool of immigration candidates, searching for appropriate matches, setting up interviews and hiring them.

Foreign workers that are interested in exploring employment opportunities or showcasing their skills to employers in Quebec can register themselves with the Journées Québec.

Quebec has many jobs available throughout the different regions of Quebec. Each of the regions in Quebec has their own unique way of life to offer.

All planned recruitment activities are to be held virtually. The arrival of foreign workers in Quebec eventually will be as per the health measures prescribed by the Quebec government.
