Abstract: IRCC has introduced the Indo-Pacific strategy to boost immigration to Canada.
IRCC or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada in a press release addressed the strengthening of relationships in Canada with countries in the Indo-Pacific. Canada believes that it would help in boosting immigration in the country in the coming years.
Therefore, to boost immigration, Canada has announced the Indo-Pacific strategy. It aims to welcome more immigrants from the Indo-Pacific region.

The strategy was officially launched by Global Affairs Canada on November 27, 2022. It will attract investments and initiatives of around 2.3 billion CAD by 2027.
As per the data from the 2021 census of Canada, 4 of the top 7 birth countries are:
The top 3 birth countries of Canadian immigrants who were issued Canada PR or permanent residency visas, that is, 44% in the last 5 years were also from the Indo-Pacific region.
International students who make up approximately 65% of the country's student population belong to the countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

Canada sets to welcome 471,000 migrants by the end of 2022
One of the acts of strengthening ties with Indo-Pacific countries is the launching of Canada-ASEAN Scholarships as well as the program for Educational Exchanges for Development.
The program will offer 14.2 million CAD in funding for the next 5 years. It is designed to encourage exchanges and sharing of knowledge and skills and to introduce advanced education and research in common areas of interest.
The education-oriented program aids international students in social and economic contributions to Canada. The funds received under the Indo-Pacific Strategy will help in strengthening Canada's International Student Program. It will also promote more diversity in the region for those wanting to study in Canada.
