Highlights: Record-breaking 110,266 ITAs issued as Canada prioritizes Tech and Skilled Workers

• IRCC issued a total of 110,266 ITAs between January 11 and December 21, 2023.
• Recent statistical data shows a 136% increase in ITA issuance from the statistics of 2022.
• Around 40,052 CEC candidates were invited, marking a majority of ITAs issued for that category.
• Skilled workers from the technological field received the highest number of ITAs via the Express Entry draws.

ITAs issued in 2023

According to recent statistical data, IRCC has reported to issue 110, 266 ITAs in 2023 between January 11 and December 21. A sweeping increase of 136% has been reported in the number of ITAs issued in 2022. Around 343,875 profiles were selected out of 488,571 profiles received by the IRCC.

Report show that Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates received the maximum number of ITAs, followed by PNP and FSWP candidates. FSTP candidates only received eight ITAs in 2023. The table below has the details of the number of ITAs issued for each Express Entry category:

The IRCC issued 25,870 ITAs after the Category-Based selection Rounds were introduced in June 2023 which accounted for 23% of all ITAs.

Gender-based statistics of ITAs issued in 2023

Recent data shows that around 57% of ITAs were issued to male applicants and remaining 43% to women applicants. The majority of CEC (52%) and PNP (26%) to receive ITAs were men while women received the majority of ITAs (33%) were FSWP candidates.

Number of ITAs on the basis of occupation

Professional work experience of the candidate plays a crucial role while applying for Express Entry. Certain occupations are more in-demand and receive majority of ITAs. The maximum number of ITAs were issued to professionals associated with tech, ICT and finance occupations.
