Irish Citizenship Applications 2024

According to recent figures By the Irish Department of Justice, around 30,000 citizenship applications were issued by the Irish government in 2024. The country held seven citizenship ceremonies on December 02 and December 03, 2024, respectively.

The citizenship ceremonies granted Irish citizenship to around 6000 newly naturalized citizens from 140 countries. The ceremonies were preceded by Justice Paddy McMahon and retired President of the High Court Mary Irvine who encouraged the newly naturalized citizens to build inclusive communities in Ireland.

New changes to acquiring citizenship in Ireland

The Irish authorities are introducing and implementing new policies to facilitate the naturalization process in Ireland. The government is planning to digitize the application process and payment along with the vetting system.

 

The Department of Justice in Ireland recently launched a platform to enable online submission of citizenship applications to facilitate the process of acquiring Irish Citizenship. From November 04, 2024, candidates can also renew their Ireland residence permit applications online.
