Did you know MPNP Canada conducted its 52nd draw?

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its 52^nd round of invitation on 12^th October 2018. It issued 354 ITAs in its Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas subcategories.

318 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba sub-stream. The candidate with the lowest rank had a score of 500.

In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, 36 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued. The minimum score in this stream was 617. The 36 invitations that were issued were part of the Strategic Recruitment Initiative under the MPNP.

A Strategic Recruitment Initiative is when applicants receive an invitation to perform a certain labor market requirement.

The minimum score lowered by almost 180 points in the latest MPNP draw as compared to the Sep 28 draw. Here is a comparison between the last draw and the current MPNP draw:

Candidates under the MPNP Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream have to meet the following criteria:

1. Should be either a qualified TFW (Temporary Foreign Worker) in Manitoba or an international graduate
2. Should have a full-time, permanent offer of employment from an employer in Manitoba
3. Should have been working with their current Manitoba employer continuously for at least 6 months
4. Should hold a valid Post-graduation Work Permit or a Work Permit to work in Manitoba
5. Should demonstrate required English proficiency
6. Should submit a Settlement Plan with the intent of settling in Manitoba permanently
7. Should have sufficient funds-CAD 10,000 for the primary applicant and CAD 2,000 for each dependent included in the Visa application

Candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas need to meet the below criteria:

1. Should score a minimum of 60 points out of 100 on the MPNP point’s grid, as quoted by the CIC News.
2. Should have an established connection to Manitoba. This could be in the form of family in Manitoba, or previous education or work experience in the province.
