Latest Express Entry Draw issued 1,040 ITAs to candidates

Latest Express Entry Draw held on January 23, 2024 issued a total of 1,040 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates in a general draw with a minimum CRS score of 543.

 

The general draw includes candidates from all the programs administered in the Express Entry, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). No other human capital attributes or occupations are targeted.

Procedure of Express Entry Draw issuing ITAs to candidates

Express Entry system uses the Comprehensive Ranking System to rank candidates according to their human capital attributes. This includes factors such as age, work experience, occupation, wage, language proficiency and education. Candidates are ranked against one another after each attribute is given a score.  

Invitations may also be sent to Express Entry candidates in any of the three programs in a category-based selection draw that focus on particular attribute. This includes six categories that are the STEM, Transportation, Trade, Healthcare, Agriculture and Agri-food, and fluency in French.

Those candidates with the highest CRS scores are most likely to receive an ITA in an Express Entry draw, regardless of the program or kind of draw.

The Immigration Levels Plan 2024 – 2026 states that Canada will admit 110,000 new permanent residents in the nation through Express Entry in 2024. This is an increase from the 82,880 candidates that were targeted via Express Entry in 2023.
