On 2nd January, Manitoba conducted the first draw of the year. The province issued 186 invites to skilled foreign workers and international graduates.
Here is the break-up of the invites issued:
24 invites were issued to candidates with a valid ID in the Express Entry Pool. They can now apply for a provincial nomination through MPNP. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to their CRS score in the Express Entry Pool which guarantees an ITA for Canada PR in the subsequent draws.
Candidates in the Express Entry Pool must have work experience in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba to qualify for a provincial nomination. Eligible candidate must also be able to demonstrate a connection to the province.
To be eligible for an invitation from Manitoba, you must submit an EOI to the MPNP. Eligible EOIs are scored out of 1000 points on factors like a connection to Manitoba, age, education, work experience etc.
The cut-off score in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream was 534 points in the 2nd January draw. The cut-off score in the Skilled Workers Overseas stream was 708.
Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiative invited 42 candidates through the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.
To apply under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, you must have a valid job offer from Manitoba.
If you are an international graduate from Manitoba and have skills that are in demand in the province, you may apply under the International Education Stream.
