Manitoba province has invited 419 in the latest round of invitations – EOI Draw #104 – held under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program [MPNP] on December 17, 2020. Of the total 419 invitations issued, “37 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry ID and job seeker validation code”.
This is the highest number of Letters of Advice to Apply [LAAs] issued by the MPNP in any round of invitations in 2020. Previously, the highest number of invitations issued was 253 on August 13 this year.
The previous MPNP draw was held on November 19, 2020.
Manitoba is one of the provinces that are a part of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program [PNP]. With around 80 pathways, the PNP is a much sought-after route to Canada immigration.
As per the official MPNP Monthly Data, between January and November 2020, Manitoba has nominated a total of 5,349 – Skilled Worker [SW] streams: 5,333 nominations, and Business Investor Stream: 16 nominations. Another 30 have been Business Approvals by the MPNP during the same period.
For 2020, Manitoba had received “5,000 Base nomination spaces and 875 Express Entry spaces”.
The MPNP has issued 562 Express Entry nominations so far this year [January-November 2020].
Express Entry candidates that are successful in securing a PNP nomination get 600 points allotted to their Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score, thereby ensuring that they are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the subsequent federal draw to be held.
What are the PNP streams of Manitoba? |
[A] Skilled Worker Stream Locally driven, based on requirements of Manitoba employers. Internationally trained as well as experienced workers with skills in demand in the local labour market are selected and nominated for Canadian permanent residence through the MPNP. 1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba. A strong connection to the province – in the form of an “ongoing Manitoba employment” – is needed. 2. Skilled Workers Overseas. Established connection to Manitoba needed, through support of family/friends, previous education/work experience, or direct invitation from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. |
[B] International Education Stream [IES] Provides international students that have graduated in Manitoba a faster pathway for an MPNP nomination, provided they meet the needs of the industry. 3 pathways available –

Foreign nationals seeking the MPNP’s Skilled Worker Stream route to permanent residence in Canada will be required to register their Expression of Interest [EOI] profile with the MPNP.
Following successful registration with the MPNP, an EOI score will be allotted to the candidate.
With a maximum of 1,000 points, the EOI score of the MPNP is based on human capital factors [connection to Manitoba, language ability, work experience etc.].
