Manitoba invited 217 to apply for a provincial nomination in its 84th EOI draw on 27th February. The latest draw issued 161 invitations under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. 24 invitations were issued under the Skilled Workers Overseas category, while 32 invitations were issued under the International Education category.
The 27th February draw also issued 20 invitations to Express Entry candidates out of the total of 217.
The Federal Express Entry Program manages the candidate pool for Canada’s major immigration programs- Federal Skilled Workers Class, Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Class. Eligible candidates are scored on the Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) using parameters like age, qualification, skills, language proficiency etc. Candidates who have the highest score get an invitation to apply for Canada Permanent Residence.
Receiving a provincial nomination increases a candidate’s CRS score by 600 points. The added points ensure that the candidate receives an ITA to apply for Canada Permanent Residence.
Express Entry applicants who have experience in an in-demand occupation in Manitoba besides other requirements may be considered for an invitation by Manitoba. They, however, have to submit an Expression of Interest to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
Candidates in both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Overseas categories need to submit an EOI to MPNP to be considered for an invite. Manitoba scores the EOIs on factors like education, work experience, language skills, a connection to the province etc. Candidates who have the highest-scoring EOIs receive an invite from the MPNP to apply for a provincial nomination.
The candidate with the least-scoring EOI in the 27th February draw under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba had a score of 499. In the Skilled Workers Overseas category, the least-scoring EOI had a score of 707.
Candidates who can help support the labour market needs of Manitoba are invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas category. The Skilled Workers in Manitoba category invites candidates who already have a full-time job offer from Manitoba.
International students who have graduated from a higher educational institute in Manitoba can apply under the International Education category.
The International Education category has three sub-categories:
