What is Manitoba’s Skilled Workers Overseas stream?
Locally driven and based on the specific requirements of the employers in Manitoba, the Skilled Workers Overseas pathway is targeted at workers (internationally trained and experienced) that have the skills in demand in the Manitoba labour market.
Through the stream, such foreign workers are nominated to acquire Canadian permanent resident visas to work and settle in Manitoba.
To be eligible for the MPNP’s SWO stream, the candidate must be able to demonstrate “an established connection to Manitoba”. This connection to the province can be through – (1) a Manitoba Supporter, (2) previous education or work experience in Manitoba, or (3) through a direct invitation from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
A Manitoba Supporter – an established resident of Manitoba who is the applicant’s close relative or friend/distant relative – that is willing, as well as able, to review and endorse the applicant’s plan for settling in Manitoba with family.
