On April 27, 2021, streaming giant Netflix announced the opening of their new office in Toronto.
In an official Press release, Mayor John Tory has welcomed Netflix to its “new Canadian home in Toronto”.
The news regarding the same was delivered by Netflix officials to Mayor Tory in a virtual meeting.
Before the latest announcement, Toronto already had one of the two Canadian Production Hubs of Netflix.
Through the hub, talented crews in Toronto have been instrumental in the success of various international productions.
In the past, Netflix has made a significant contribution to the development of the workforce and infrastructure in Toronto.
With the new office in Toronto, Netflix will be expanding its commitment to working with talent in Canada, working alongside Canadian creators to bring stories from Canada onto the international platform. |
As per the official Press Release, “As one of the most diverse cities in the world, Toronto is proud of our locally-based, globally-minded talent, and looks forward to being home to Netflix as they support the best creators here, and from every part of Canada.”
