The Indonesian Immigration Department states that this visa is strictly for travel and business purposes. Working locally is prohibited for visa holders while they are in the nation. Those who want to work or remain for longer periods of time need to apply for a different kind of visa.
Authorities warn that failure to comply with the visa requirements may result in fines, deportation, or any other legal action.

In an effort to attract more foreign tourists, the government of Indonesia is considering the removal of visa requirements for 20 nations, including India.
The Indonesian immigration agency introduces online option for extending visa permits, eliminating the need for physically visiting the immigration offices. The updated system sends stay permits directly to the applicant's email, by streamlining the process.
The online extension service includes various visa categories, including those for travel, vacation, family visits, transit, medical care, travel by foreign government officials, short courses and training, and international exhibitions.
