The CBSE board has announced the new academic session for Classes 10 and 12. According to the new pattern, the academics will be split into two terms for the academic year 2021-22. That means there will be two board exams, and the final score will be calculated based on a student’s performance in the two-term exams.
Term I examinations: November-December 2021 (4-8 weeks)
Roughly 50% of the syllabus will be covered in Term I examinations.
The 90-min test will have:
Term II examinations: March-April 2022
The 2-hour paper will have questions:
If the conditions are not suitable, they will have 90 min and only MCQs, like Term I.

Every year, most students tend to study overseas like the U.S., the U.K., and Canada. But this pattern will affect the students who plan their UG courses overseas.
US applicants
For the U.S. universities, early actions and early applications (early November) and the deadline will be in January. Students need to juggle board exams instead of the rest they need to get prior to the board exams based on this pattern.
Immediately after the score comes out, students need to start applying in January-February with the predicted scores if they like to apply for the U.S. institutions.
If they opt for the U.K. or Canada, 15th January is the deadline for submitting applications, so students should prepare with their essays and other requirements within the prescribed time.
Hence students have to start preparations prior, i.e., preferably from March-April. They need to get more information, and the things that need to be kept ready:
The changes in the CBSE examination are designed to get better performance from the students. So, students who plan to study abroad should get the details ahead before their timelines.
