Canada has made an announcement about additional benefits for international job seekers and students. An announcement has also been made for the resumption of Express Entry draws for the following candidates:

Sean Fraser has announced about a new temporary policy which will help the students to extend their stay in Canada. The temporary status of such students may be on the expiry, and this new policy will help them to extend their stay.
This will also help them to apply for permanent residency in Canada. International students in Canada who have an expiring postgraduate work permit will have the option to qualify for a new work permit whose validity will be 18 months.
There is an expectation that around 95,000 PGWPs will be expired in 2022. An estimation has also been made that a new work permit will benefit 50,000 PGWP holders.

Express Entry
An announcement for the resumption of CEC, FSTP, and FSWP has also been made. This will help in fulfilling around a million job vacancies. The processing of new Express Entry within six months will be conducted. IRCC has said that the processing time of Express Entry can be in the range of seven months to 20 months.
Permanent Residency Applications
There can be candidates who have applied for an open work permit and have to wait for the processing of PR applications. Their work permit will be valid till the end of 2024. This will ensure that the processing of the PR Applications will be completed before these candidates have to apply for the work permit again.
The top benefactor for this visa will be Indians. Indians received 50,841 invites for permanent residence in 2020. IN 2021, the number of Indians who became permanent residents was 100,000.
