The UK has set up a commission to formulate comprehensive data on the merits of international students in the country. The commission comprises experts in the education field.
The IHEC or International Higher Education Commission has been established to gather and formulate data about the policies for students from other countries. It is headed by Chris Skidmore, former universities minister and Member of Parliament of the UK.

The aim of the commission is to highlight the importance of international students in contributing to the economy and society of the UK and to suggest ideas for 'International Education Strategy 2.0'. One of the ideas is a study visa that makes the UK a more attractive study overseas destination.
The UK is facing a shortage in the workforce in the sectors of hospitality and healthcare. The enhanced immigration policies will address the shortage, offer opportunities for Indian graduates who pursued their higher education, and find meaningful employment opportunities in the country.
