The inaugural Formula E race, Saudi Ad Diriyah E Prix, is to be held near Riyadh later this year. Saudi Arabia, hence, has launched a new Tourist Visa for racing fans to attend the event.
The Saudi General Sports authority announced that the new visa platform will be introduced on 15th December. This new online visa platform will be called Sharek and will be introduced for the Saudi Ad Diriyah E Prix.
The chronicled city of Ad Diriyah is the first commanding position for Saudi kings. The city will host one of the biggest festivals for car racing, music, and entertainment for over 3 days.
Sharek has been launched as a part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 which is spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohd. Bin Salman.
Organizers hope that a large number of fans would take advantage of the new Visa and travel to the kingdom.
Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud is the vice-chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Sports Authority. Speaking to Arabian Business, he said that it was a true game-changing occasion for the kingdom. With the launch of Sharek, the new visa system, Saudi Arabia would be able to share the global event with the world. He opines that the kingdom is racing into the future with the inaugural Formula E race.
To build the track, Saudi Arabia has worked with UNESCO. Details about the upcoming will be announced in the next few weeks.
WWE and European Tour Gold already have a long-term partnership with Saudi Arabia. With Formula E following suit the kingdom has set itself up as a destination for global sports.
