The UAE or the United Arab Emirates has started a new scheme for unemployment insurance to boost the reforms to attract more investment and talent in the country amid rising competition.
The scheme was first announced in May 2022. It offers financial aid for a maximum of 3 months for private and public sector employees who have lost their jobs.
Both the citizens of the UAE and international immigrants are eligible for the scheme.

The new scheme for social security aims to ensure the maintenance of a respectable life for UAE citizens and international employees when they experience unemployment.
Unemployed professionals can claim 60 percent of the salary, they earned previously. It approximately amounts to monthly aid of 20,000 dirhams 5,445.29 or USD.
