New Zealand migration rules have major bureaucratic flaws said a leading legal expert on immigration. The legal immigration expert Aaron Martin said that he has extensive experience in issues related to immigration. This has given a firsthand knowledge of the loopholes in the existing New Zealand migration rules.

The legal immigration expert has certain proposals for the new government regarding its focus for immigration. The Labor Party had focused on the positive messages in their campaign for elections. Thus it is expected that the Immigration Minister will take equally positive steps, as quoted by the Voxy Co NZ.

The Immigration Minister and the department must devote time and resources for evaluating the key loopholes in the existing system. The time taken for the National Security Check of an applicant to be received by Immigration New Zealand is 6 months. It is really frustrating for both the department personnel and the applicant, said the legal expert.

The Immigration Department must also give attention to the issues with respect to medical referrals for immigrant applicants. This also one of the areas that require the immediate attention of the Immigration Minister, said Martin.

The current visa rules in New Zealand with regards to residence visa and work visa are really time-consuming. In case if the applicant shows a medical condition in the application of these two visas, he is required to send two individual referrals. These must be sent to the team for health assessment of both the visas.

Majority of the applicants would believe that the referrals could be sent at the same time for the assessment teams. On the other hand, this is not true. The process of getting a result from the medical assessor who has been sent medical information is around one month.
