You can submit your New Zealand Visa application using a paper form, online or with the help of an Immigration Adviser. After this, you can check its status and the timeframes for a decision.
Immigration New Zealand assesses your application as well as supporting documents. This is to ensure that you have sent them everything needed to arrive at a decision.
The time taken for processing your New Zealand Visa application depends on your visa category. Your circumstances and the details you offer with the application also have a say. You may have to wait for a longer time for the decision is your application is incomplete.
You set up an online account with INZ at the time of application. You can log in to check if you need to offer extra details. Other information about the progress of your application can also be checked, as quoted by the Immigration Govt NZ.
Using the link at the top of the page on the INZ site, you must select the category of visa that you have applied.
Student, Visitor or Work Visas
Use your Real Me account to log in. If the application status is ‘Submitted’ it is ready for processing. The status will say ‘Contact Us’ if INZ needs more information.
INZ aims to process your application at the earliest. It may take longer for them to decide your application at times. This could be such as at the beginning or end of a year.
