Nova Scotia conducts the second draw this month for the Labour Market Priorities Stream. This time the province exclusively invited carpenters from the Express Entry Pool for a provincial nomination.
The Labour Market Priorities Stream searches the Express Entry Pool for eligible candidates who can fill in the skill gaps in the province.
22 invitations were issued to eligible carpenters who had their profiles in the Express Entry Pool.
Candidates who have received an invitation will need to submit reference letters from their employers. This letters will help demonstrate that the candidates have two or more years of experience as a carpenter.
Carpenters who are self-employed are also eligible under this stream. However, they will need to provide documentation from clients or third parties like the service provided, payment details etc.
Selected candidates also need to be proficient in either English or French. They should be able to demonstrate a skill level of at least CLB 5, as per CIC News.
Selected candidates also need to provide evidence of having sufficient funds as per Canadian immigration rules.
Nova Scotia had launched the Labour Market Priorities Stream on August 2018. Since then, the stream has help exclusive draws for occupations like Early Childhood Educators and Financial Auditors and Accountants. The stream has also held exclusive draws for French-speaking candidates.
Selected carpenters in the latest draw will have 30 days to apply for a provincial nomination.
Candidates who get a provincial nomination will get an extra 600 points on their Comprehensive Ranking Scores. This will effectively guarantee that they receive an ITA in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
