Nova Scotia is among the Canadian provinces and territories that are a part of the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].
On May 3, 2021, Nova Scotia PNP – officially the Nova Scotia Nominee Program [NSNP] – invited 2 Canada immigration candidates eligible for the International Graduate Entrepreneur [IGE] Stream.
This is the first time in 2021 that the NSNP has held a draw from the IGE Stream.
An Overview of the May 3 NSNP draw | |
Number of Invitations Issued | Score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited |
2 | 44 |
Note. This score is as per the International Graduate Entrepreneur Points Grid.
A key component of the IGE Stream of the NSNP, the points grid allocates a score following an assessment of the factors of – language, education, age, work experience, adaptability, and Nova Scotia economic priorities.
Nova Scotia, through the NSNP, targets and invites prospective immigrants with the skills and experience in demand in the province. Selected candidates are invited to apply, in the NSNP draws that are held from time to time. Successful candidates are then nominated by Nova Scotia PNP for Canada immigration. |
With almost 80 different ‘streams’ or immigration pathways available, the PNP offers a much sought-after route to permanent residence in Canada.
NSNP streams available –
Those intending to take up Canada immigration through the NSNP will be expected to settle within Nova Scotia after they get their Canada PR.
For recent graduates of either the Nova Scotia Community College or a university within the province, the International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream of the NSNP is often also referred to as the IGE Stream. To be considered for the NSNP’s IGE Stream, the international student must have already started or brought a Nova Scotia business and also operated it for a minimum of 1 year. Applying to the IGE Stream of Nova Scotia PNP is by invitation only. |
Along with the clear intention of living permanently in Nova Scotia – while owning as well as actively managing a Nova Scotia business – the individual must also have a valid post-graduation work permit for Canada.
