The report aims to create awareness about the immigration streams for French-speaking individuals under the NSNP or Nova Scotia Nominee Program and the AIP or Atlantic Immigration Program. It seeks to educate immigrants about the resources and support available to French-speaking newcomers in Nova Scotia.
The Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025 was released recently. It outlined Canada's aims to welcome around 500,000 newcomers by issuing Canada PR visas by 2025.
Nova Scotia hopes to benefit from the immigration plan. In 2021, the population has increased to over 1 million for the first time in its history, and Nova Scotia hopes to double its population by 2060. The high population growth can be attributed to increased immigration.
To attract more French-speaking individuals, Nova Scotia held a draw under the stream of Labor Market Priorities of the NSNP. The draw invited 150 candidates who had a score of 10 in CLB or Canadian Language Benchmark in all the language tests.
