Oman Visas to soon be offered on the mobile app

Overseas travellers will shortly be able to get their Oman Visas through a mobile app. As of now, they can apply online through the website of ROP. They can also get a VOA.

ROP IT Department Smart Application Services Team Lead Captain Ibrahim Saif Al-Kindi says that his team is working on updating of the app. This is to ensure the availability of extra services in the future, he added.

Customs services will soon be available in mobile applications said, Ibrahim. Visa status, Visa services, and all other related services will be offered, he added.

International travellers are required to obtain Oman Visas prior to their arrival to the nation. They are exempted if they are from nations enjoying the Visa Waiver. Select overseas travellers can also obtain VOA, as quoted by the GD online.

Nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council member nations do not need a Visa to arrive at Oman. Citizens of 71 other nations can obtain Oman Visas by applying online. The Validity of such visas is 30 days. All visitors must have a passport that has a minimum of 6 months validity.

Tourist Visa is offered by the competent authority to the overseas nationals for arriving at Oman with below specifications:

• The Visa has a validity of 6 months starting with the date it is issued
• It is valid for stay in Oman for not more than 30 days from the date of arrival
• It is a single entry Visa
• The Visa can be extended for a similar period
• The fee for the Visa is 20 Omani Royals
• A fine of 10 Riyals per day for each day of delay will be imposed after the Visa expires
• If the Visa has a validity of 10 days the fees will be 5 Omani Royals an can be extended for comparable periods at the same charges per period of extension
