Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a program that is operated by the province of Ontario. The International Students stream under OINP targets foreign nationals who have completed a Canadian education with skilled occupation job offers from an Ontario employer. They have now been given an opportunity to permanently live and work in Ontario.

Applicant Requirements

Any person who is willing to apply for this stream must have completed a Canadian educational credential within two years and must meet one of the two following conditions:

• A degree of at least two years of full-time study, or;
• A degree that takes one year to complete but which requires a previously completed degree as a prerequisite for admission.

Steps to Apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program

Step 1: Register in an OINP’s expression of interest system

Step 2: After registering, you will receive an invitation to apply.

Step 3: You will be nominated by the Ontario government for PR.

Step 4: If you are nominated then apply to the federal government through Immigration

Physicians and other self-employed professionals

Physicians and Self-employed professionals are not allowed under OINP Employer Job Offer streams. Physicians who get payment under the traditional payment model such as the Ontario Health Insurance Plan or through other contractual service arrangements where there is no legal employer-employee relationship will not be included.
