The latest round of invitations by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] was held on November 12, 2020 at 11:11 am EST. As this was a targeted draw from the Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream, 443 candidates with work experience in any of the 6 occupations were invited.
An immigration stream under the OINP, Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream is linked with the federal Express Entry system. The OINP’s HCP stream provides foreign workers – with the required education, skilled work experience and language abilities – an opportunity for applying to live and work in Ontario permanently.
In the latest draw, Express Entry profiles created between November 12, 2019 and November 12, 2020 were considered.
In order to receive an invitation from the OINP through the HCP stream, the candidate must –
Have a valid Express Entry profile |
Receive a NOI from the OINP |
If the application is successful, the candidate will receive an OINP Certificate of Nomination as well as a Nomination Approval Letter, details of which will have to be entered into the Express Entry system.
Following this step, a notification of nomination will be sent through the IRCC online account of the applicant.
30 days will be given for accepting or refusing nomination in the Express Entry system.
On accepting the nomination, the Express Entry candidate receives an additional 600 CRS points. With their profile boosted by the extra points got through a PNP nomination, an invitation to apply will be issued to them in the subsequent Express Entry draw that is held.
On being invited, the next step is to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] for Canadian permanent residence.
In the latest November 12 OINP draw, along with work experience in the relevant occupations, the candidates were also required to have their Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score between 469 and 477.
Those receiving notifications of interest [NOIs] in the latest OINP draw can now apply to Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream.
The previous OINP draw was held on November 4, 2020, in which a total of 726 immigration candidates – from Skilled Trades stream and French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream – had received invitations.
The previous HCP draw, on the other hand, was held on October 15, 2020.
