Ontario PNP is one of the most sought-after Provincial Nomination Program [PNP] pathways for Canada PR. Ontario had a provincial nomination of 6,650 in 2019 from the Canadian federal government.
As the full allocation for 2019 was met in November, an additional 700 spaces were granted by the federal government. These too were allocated before the end of the year. In addition to the increased allocation, Ontario also nominated 41 applicants via the NOC C Pilot program which is a Federal-Provincial partnership for increasing Canada permanent residence pathways for in-demand lower-skilled workers that had valid job offers.
With this, the total number of immigrants nominated by the OINP for Canada PR in 2019 came to 7,391 principal applicants. As these applications included 6,340 dependents, a total of 13,731 new immigrants were welcomed by Ontario in 2019.
