The province of Ontario in Canada has held another round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP].

On June 23, 2021, Ontario PNP – officially the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] – issued targeted invitations to candidates that might qualify for Ontario's Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream.

The previous round of OINP invitations under the HCP stream was held on April 13, 2021.

An Overview of the June 23 OINP draw
Total NOIs issued CRS score range

Invitations issued by the OINP to HCP candidates are also known as Notification of Interest [NOI] letters.

Those receiving an NOI from the OINP will have to submit their application – for an OINP nomination, under the HCP stream, for Canada PR – within 45 calendar days of receiving the NOI.

For an IRCC Express Entry candidate, a PNP nomination guarantees an invitation by IRCC in the next federal draw to be held.

As the HCP is linked with the federal Express Entry system, the ranking score of the candidate in the pool is taken into consideration. In the latest OINP HCP draw, the ranking score of the invited candidates was between 464 and 467 as per the Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS].

Those invited were also required to have created their Express Entry profile between June 23, 2020 and June 23, 2021.

Unlike the April 13 Tech draw by the OINP that targeted 6 tech occupations, the latest Ontario PNP draw targeted 10 occupations.

10 Occupations Targeted in June 23OINP draw
National Occupational Classification [NOC] Code Job description
NOC 0122 Banking, credit and other investment managers
NOC 0124 Advertising, marketing and public relations managers
NOC 0125 Other business services managers
NOC 0601 Corporate sales managers
NOC 1111 Financial auditors and accountants
NOC 1112 Financial and investment analysts
NOC 1121 Human resources professionals
NOC 1122 Professional occupations in business management consulting
NOC 3012 Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
NOC 4163 Business development officers and marketing researchers and consultants

The HCP is among the 3 OINP streams aligned with the federal Express Entry system managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC].

The OINP regularly searches the IRCC Express Entry pool to find Canada immigration hopefuls that might meet the criteria of any of the OINP streams linked with the Express Entry system of Canada.

OINP streams linked with IRCC Express Entry
·       Human Capital Priorities [HCP] stream ·       French-Speaking Skilled Worker [FSSW] stream ·       Skilled Trades [ST] stream

To qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, a candidate must have a valid Express Entry profile with IRCC and also meet the eligibility requirements of either the   Canadian Experience Class [CEC],or the Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP].

With the latest OINP draw, a total of 5,032 NOIs have been issued by the OINP so far in 2021. Of these, a majority – that is, 3,334 NOIs – have gone out to candidates under the HCP stream.
