PEI PNP holds a draw: 121 immigration candidates invited

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) conducted a draw for Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact candidates on February 18, 2021. A total of 121 invitations were sent out. Of which,102 went out to  Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. The remaining invites went to Business Impact candidates as long as they met the minimum threshold of 82 points.

About PEI Express Entry Category

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) allows candidates to apply for a PEI Express Entry nomination for Canadian permanent residency. You are eligible to apply through PEI Express Entry category if you fulfill the below criteria:

• Qualify for at least one of these Federal Economic Immigration programs:

• Federal Skilled Worker Program;
• Canadian Experience Class; or
• Federal Skilled Trades Program

• Be placed in the pool of candidates by creating a Federal Express Entry Profile

About PEI Labour Impact Category

The Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category is a gateway for foriegn nationals who hold a valid job offer and support from a PEI employer to Canadian permanent residence.This category is composed of three sub-categories, each with its own set of requirements:

1. Skilled Worker Stream
2. Critical Worker Stream, and
3. International Graduate Stream

About PEI Business Impact Category

The business impact category is designed keeping in mind foreign nationals who want to invest in or actively manage a business in PEI. PEI PNP Business Impact category comprises three sub-categories:

1. 100% Ownership Stream

As the name suggests, this category is designed for foreign entrepreneurs who want to either

 purchase an already existing PEI business or those who want to start their own firm in PEI. The business should be able to create revenue by selling goods or services at arm’s length to third parties.

2. Partial Ownership Stream

This category is designed for foreign nationals who wish to buy a part of a business in PEI. The person should purchase atleast 1/3^rd ofthe business’ equity or invest $1,000,000 in the equity of the business.

3. Work Permit Stream

This stream is quite similar to the PEI PNP Partial Ownership Stream. The only difference being that the applicant (appropriate work permit is granted) can work in the PEI business they plan to invest in before deciding whether to invest or not. Using this category the applicant can move faster to PEI in terms of settlement and immigration. When the applicant meets the requirements and conditions of a performance agreement, he/she will then be nominated to apply for permanent residency.
