Eased policies cause a surge in German citizenship applications

The German government has updated its immigration policies which has made German Citizenship easier with new law from June 27, 2024. The surge in the number of German citizenship applications could also be because of the recent updates regrading dual citizenship laws for migrants. Migrants can now get dual citizenship with a minimum of five years of residency requirement to acquire citizenship. The German passport is the sixth strongest in the world, allowing visa-free travel to 105 countries.
