Record number of Indian students enrolled in UK universities for Fall 2022

There has been an increase in the number of Indian students opting to pursue their academics in the UK. For the Fall 2022 intake, a record number of Indian students enrolled in the UK universities. After China, India is the second-highest resource for international students in the UK.

UCAS - Universities and Colleges Admissions Service

The UK has started an initiative of shared admissions facilities for higher education. It is popularly known as UCAS or Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. It will begin the undergraduate courses in the UK from this September, that is, the fall season. Des Cutchey, the International MD of UCAS, says that "the figure of Indian students' applications indicates the country's favorable perception. Indians view the UK as a destination for higher education destination."

The International MD of UCAS goes on to add that the number of applications for nursing studies from India is higher than the previous years. He thinks that pandemic is the cause trend in UK colleges' applications. It goes on to show how this profession is viewed after the pandemic. They forecast that applications from India will see an increase in the coming years. He believes that the attraction factor of having an experience in a foreign country is still strong. Statistics of Indian Student Applicants enrolled in the UK

The number of applicants applying for UK universities per year is given below.

This year 8,660 applicants applied for the Universities of UK. Last year, in 2021, 7,830 students applied for the courses in the UK. The number of applicants in 2019 was less, with only 4,690 applicants. In 2022, the number of applications were double compared to the ones in 2019. According to the official reports from India, applications for the courses starting in September increased to almost 11% than the previous number of applications.

Deadline for the Applications

The last date for the UK University applications was January 26, 2022. Applicants who have applied before the last date have better chances of getting admission to the Universities they have applied to. On the other hand, students who have submitted their applications after the deadline will only get an enrollment if there are seats left.
