This survey report on Schengen Visa states that the recommencement of European booking activity contributed the most to the increasing rate of booking momentum. As far as the markets in the Pacific and Americas are concerned, have remained stable even amid the ongoing pandemic.
The report also highlights that the relationship between reopening announcements and booking activity is again clear. Travelers have started looking to lock in their plans as soon as they possibly can across the European continent.
Last month, authorities in Portugal announced that they opened their doors for visitors with Europe Visa & Schengen COVID Passport. These visitors are basically from European Union member states.
Even visitors from non-EU Schengen Area countries-Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, & United Kingdom are also allowed to visit Portugal. Ford’s report emphasized that such a decision will initiate an initial spike in the booking of hotels in Portugal.
It was all possible because of the easing of lockdown measures from April 19 & again from early May. Early May is the period when authorities in Portugal lifted their state of emergency due to covid-19.

At the same time, the country’s land border with Spain was also reopened. Apart from that, United Kingdom too started out easing the restrictions on April 5. Hence, it also resulted in the opening of the hotels & B&Bs from last Monday. It led to a 35% increase in booking volumes.
The report published by SiteMinder also revealed that the booking numbers accelerated sharply since May 9, when Spain started ending its restrictions. It also confirmed the lifting of restrictions on Britons from traveling to the country.
For France, the report says that “around 60 percent of bookings made in the last two weeks have been for stays in either May or June, and less than 7 percent have been for stays beyond August.”
So, if you have Schengen Visa or Europe Visa, or Europe COVID passport, you can again make it to Europe for a lovely vacation.
