The province of Saskatchewan in Canada has held its latest provincial draw on December 17, 2020. A total of 576 Canada immigration hopefuls have received invitations through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program [SINP] in the second draw to be held in December.

In the latest SINP draw, 386 invitations were issued to Occupations In-Demand [OID] candidates. Another 190 invitations went to candidates under the SINP’s Express Entry [EE] category.

Those invited can now proceed to submitting their application for a nomination by Saskatchewan for Canadian permanent residence through the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP] of Canada. There are almost 80 PNP ‘streams’ or immigration pathways available.

Express Entry candidates that are successful in securing a PNP nomination are allotted 600 additional points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score. Hence, a PNP nomination guarantees an invitation – by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] to apply for Canada PR – in the next Express Entry draw to be held.

The OID and EE programs of the SINP are for those with “education and work experience in an in-demand occupation”.

Which occupations are eligible for SINP’s Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand pathways?
Occupations eligible come under the National Occupational Classification [NOC] Matrix levels 0, A, and B. NOC O – Management NOC A – Jobs usually requiring a university education NOC B – Jobs usually requiring college education or apprenticeship training Note. NOC C and NOC D are not eligible for the Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry.

The selection of candidates in the SINP draws is determined by the demand in the local labour market. An occupation-wise limit is placed by the SINP.
