Third country nationals will soon be able to apply for this permit benefitting them for both work and residency process by eliminating the need for additional procedures.

EU Commission has welcomed the agreement as a crucial step in attracting foreign talent to sectors facing labor shortage. This emphasized the importance of aligning labor market needs with qualified workers to foster growth and innovation.

Details about the single permit directive

Ylva Johansson, Commissioner of Home Affairs, emphasizes the importance of legal immigration in the expansion of nation.

The updated regulations ensure that non-EU workers will have a common set of rights, by encompassing tax advantages, social security, working conditions and recognition of qualifications.

This will simplify the application procedure for a single permit and will contribute to developing and establishing robust and comprehensive requirements for the nation’s migration system.

Third country nationals residing both in non-EU and EU member states will be eligible to apply for a single permit after the amended Single-Permit Directive is confirmed.

The law aims to enhance international recruitment by implementing shortened application procedures.

Workers from other nations will gain ability to switch companies which strengthens their job security.

The act ensures fair treatment for all mandating Member states to establish monitoring and inspection procedures. Those employers who violate the rights of non-EU workers will face consequences.
