Singapore Announcement

On October 23, 2021, Singapore announced the removal of India and five other South Asian countries from its travel restriction list as the island-state continues to adjust border measures in response to the global Covid-19 situation.

As per the Singapore Health Ministry records, "travelers with a 14-day travel history to Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will be directly allowed to enter or transit through Singapore from Wednesday. "Singapore Health Ministry recently announced that India and five South Asian countries are moved to Category IV border measures. But they need to follow 10-day stay-home notice (SHN) at dedicated SHN facilities. Travelers from these countries need to follow the strict border measures, which include a 10-day, stay-home notice period at a dedicated facility. Singapore has reviewed the Covid-19 situation in the six South Asian countries it was previously closed off to. In the virtual press conference, Singapore health minister Ong Ye Kung said, "the situation in these countries has stabilized for some time. There is no longer a need for strict rules that prevent travelers from these countries from landing here. " These measures, as per the health ministry, will be effective from October 27, 202. These include the loosening of measures for travelers from Singapore's closest neighbors, Malaysia and Indonesia. As per the recent analysis, Singapore has reported a total of 165,663 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
