The universities here have state-of-the-art equipment and offer courses based on a study. Most German universities rank amongst the world's top universities and the good news is that most German universities are free.

In Germany, public universities don't charge tuition fees. These universities however charge a fixed fee for administrative expenses, semester ticket costs and the union fees from Germans well as international students.

Here is a list of six affordable universities in Germany:

  1. University of Hamburg

Hamburg University was established in the year 1919. It provides enough opportunities for study and a wide variety of programs. It offers about 225-degree programs in 8 faculties-law, business administration, medical, education, psychology, and human activity studies, humanities; mathematics, computer science and natural science; and accounting, economics, and social sciences. The university charges 318 Euros per semester.

  1. Humboldt University of Berlin

The Humboldt University Berlin was established in 1810 and is one of the oldest universities in Berlin. The University offers a wide variety of classes. All major topics are covered from the arts and humanities to theology and philosophy to law, medicine, and science. It is ranked 120 in the QS World university ranking for 2020. The university charges 307 Euros as tuition fees per semester.

  1. Freie Universität Berlin (Free University of Berlin)

The Free University of Berlin was founded in 1948 and is a leading research institution in Germany. The university has 12 departments in education and three main interdisciplinary institutions.

It supports study trips abroad and exchange programs for students as it has academic collaborations with top universities in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and the UK. The primary teaching medium is German but it also provides English-language courses at the master level. The university charges 303 Euros per semester.

  1. University of Göttingen, Germany

The University of Göttingen was founded in 1737 and is a public research university in Göttingen. It focuses on teaching that is based on research. More than 40 Nobel laureates are affiliated with Göttingen University.

The institution offers the arts, natural sciences, law, and social sciences research programs. The only expense is administration fees of about 300 Euros per semester.

  1. RWTH Aachen University, Germany

RWTH Aachen University offers architecture, geo-resources, and materials engineering courses in Germany. The teaching medium is German so you need to know the language. This university charges 260 Euros as administrative fees per semester.

  1. University of Wurzburg, Germany

One must be proficient in German to study at this university. But there are some courses which are taught in English for international students. The popular courses here include cultural and music studies, as well as politics, astronomy, and molecular and computational biology. The administrative fee is 130 Euros per semester.
