Unless an individual is a citizen of the European Union [EU], Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, all foreigners that wish to enter Spain – for study abroad, work overseas or migrate overseas – will be required to hold a Spanish residence visa. Under the Family Reunification Residence permit, a foreigner that is resident in Spain, and has renewed their initial residence permit, might be able to apply for a residence permit for their first-grade or immediate relatives. Relatives that can be reunited in Spain with the foreigner – · Spouse · Children below 18 years of age · Parents and parents-in-law [as long as they are under the care of the foreigner, are 65+ years in age, and there exist reasons justifying the need for authorising their residence in Spain]. The resident in Spain would be required to complete another administrative process before the submission of the visa application. The foreigner living in Spain must submit an application for a Family Reunification Residence permit at the Oficina de Extranjeros [Foreigners Office] of the province where he lives. If the permit is granted, their relative can then procced to applying for a Family Reunification Residence visa at the Spanish Consulate/Embassy. |
As per the Embassy of Spain in India, an appointment will be given per person and per passport. Separate emails will have to be sent for each of the applicants, even if they are minors.
Following the receipt of a confirmation email by the applicant, they can then choose the date and time of their appointment through an online link provided.
Appointments will have to be made personally.
In cases wherein the applicant has to cancel the appointment for any reason, they will have to do the same 4 days in advance.
