Steps to apply for study in Australia

 Australia is one of the top countries on the list of all students wanting to Study Abroad. The application process to Study in Australia requires a lengthy and complicated process involving visa applications, paperwork and exams.  To help you here is a description of the steps to apply for admission to Australian universities.

 

1. Get your documents ready

Before you start the application process, there are certain universal requirements that you should get ready which includes:

• Valid passport
• English language proficiency test score
• Financial documents as proof of funds for your studies

 

2. Shortlist your choice of courses and universities

You will need to pick your course before you start the application process. You can apply for different courses in any one or more colleges. But before you apply to check whether there is a cap on the number of universities that you can apply for as some states are implementing a cap. Be cautious when making your decision, because once you have gained admission, you cannot change your course.

 

3. Decide how you want to apply

Application to the university can be made in several ways:

• Directly via the website of the university
• Through a local university
• Through an external agent

4. Clear your English proficiency test

If English is not your first language, then you will need to take an English language proficiency test. Your scores should be submitted along with your visa application.
 

5. Get your CoE

If you are selected for a course, you will receive an offer letter from the college. You will have to confirm that you accept the offer of admission and pay the tuition fees. After you send this, you will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment or COE which is required when processing your visa application.

 

6. Apply for your visa

The next step is to apply for your visa. You will be applying for an Australia Subclass 500 Visa. Your visa application must include the following documents.

1. Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) certificate
2. Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement
3. Financial proof that you can fund your studies
4. Your English Proficiency test scores
5. Australian approved health insurance cover
6. Verification of your criminal records

7. Health checkup and visa interview

You may need to attend a visa interview and/or health check-up based on the place where you have been selected to study. You will know about this when submitting your visa application. 

 

8. Get the decision on your visa application

You will get to hear on the final decision on your visa application in a week or two after you submit your application.

 

9. Travel to Australia
