Student visa application process changed by US Embassy in 2022

Many Indian students want to study in the US universities and the US embassy is planning to change the visa application system.

“Donald L. Heflin reported about the changes to be made in the student visa application system. The doors for the international students were opened last year and thousands of interview slots have been announced in June 2021.”

Students were advised to schedule their appointments on the US embassy website. Heflin told that last year because of huge number of applications from India, worldwide computer systems were crashed. Another problem was the applications that were sent by the people who were not genuine. He also said that in first part, many genuine students came while in the second part many students came whose applications were already rejected.

Changes in the US Student Visa Software

The US Embassy plans to make changes in the student visa software, so that students who are already refused will not be able to get the visa appointment again. Students who have applied for visa are advised to check the US embassy website to schedule their appointments. These appointments can be schedules after US universities send the required documents.

Visa interview waiver scheme

Last year, the US government announced visa interview waiver scheme which was very beneficial for the Indian students. The scheme has been launched to help the Indian students in the US to come to India to meet their families. Parents of the Indian students can get to the US to meet their children if they have the visitor visa.
