Sweden reduces processing time for EU Blue Card

The Swedish government has reduced the processing time for EU Blue Cards to 30 days from 90 days to attract more highly skilled workers and retain them in the country. The processing time for Intra-corporate Transferee Permits and researchers has also been reduced.

The new processing time is expected to positively impact foreign workers and the Swedish labor market. The updated processing time applies only to applicants who have submitted an accurate and complete application form. The processing time for other applicants might extend up to four months.

Note: Qualified applicants willing to work in industries that align with Sweden's 4-tier assessment system are not eligible for reduced processing times.
