Switzerland eases entry restrictions for arrivals from India

Switzerland’s Federal Office of Public Health has lifted travel restrictions for fully vaccinated and recovered from the COVID-19 disease for the people arriving from India, the United Kingdom, and Nepal. These individuals will no longer be subjected to COVID tests and quarantine measures upon entry.

The ease of travel restrictions for the travelers (from these countries) traveling to Switzerland will be effective from August 4, 2021. The U.K., India, and Nepal are removed from Switzerland’s list of countries with a worrying virus variant.

Travelers from the UK, India, and Nepal are eased for entry restrictions if they are able to present their:

  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate
  • Negative COVID-19 test result
  • Medical certificate proving the individual recovered from the disease

The individuals traveling through air transport, including children, need to fill the form upon their entry.

Vaccinated individuals from the UK, India, Nepal, or any other country that is eased with entry restrictions to Switzerland are considered to be fully immunized, but the vaccine should be in the list of the vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency or WHO.

Every individual can check all the details regarding their travel, etc., in Y-Axis news or blog pages. It helps migrants to check all the details required to travel.

Individuals who wish to carry their recovery certificate make sure that the document is valid from the 11th day from the positive Coronavirus test result. Indian COVID recovery is valid for 180 days in Switzerland.

Travelers from virus variant areas need to provide vaccination proof or a recovery certificate along with negative COVID test results. The PCR test result should be within 72 hours before entry, but for a rapid antigen test, it should be within 48 hrs before arrival. Children under 16 yrs are exempted from COVID tests.

Switzerland’s Federal Office of Public Health states that  “If you are not fully vaccinated or unable to prove that you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last six months? In the following cases, you will have to present proof of a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) or rapid antigen test (not older than 48 hours.”
