India-Taiwan Agreement

The government of Taiwan is hoping that the hiring of Indian workers will help to boost the economy and meet the needs of key industries. Taiwan is going to become a ‘super grown’ society by 2025 as the elderly people embrace over a fifth of the population.

The two countries have decided to sign an employment agreement by December. However, it is expected to increase multi-governmental tensions with China, as it opposes any official exchange with Taiwan. In Taiwan, the unemployment rate has gone down since 2000, and a recent decision has been taken in order to achieve and maintain the target of a $790 billion economy. 

India is signing the mobility agreement with the developed countries facing workforce shortages. The agreement states that an Indian worker can stay in Taiwan for up to three years and bring their families along with them. The workers will also get the same benefits as the workers in Taiwan, such as paid leave, minimum wage, and social security.

According to a recent report, India has signed agreements with 13 countries, including Japan, France, and the UK, and is in the action of making the same kind of arrangements with Switzerland, Greece, Netherlands, and Denmark.
