As per an official Press Release dated March 18, 2021, TCS will be opening a new Montreal hub, “with plans to hire over 100 new employees immediately, and more than 500 in the next three years”.

Montreal, named after Mount Royal – the 3-peaked hill in the center of the city – is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec.

Tata Consultancy Services [TCS] is an IT services, consulting and business solutions organization.   Operating on a global scale, TCS has a diverse talent base of more than 469,261 associates representing 147 nationalities across 46 countries [as of December 31, 2020].

With the opening of the new IT delivery center in Montreal, TCS seeks to triple its Montreal headcount.

The new Montreal facility will be offering services and solutions around technologies such as advanced analytics, artificial intelligence [AI], machine learning, and cloud computing.

TCS plans on using the center for supporting new as well as existing clients across the transportation, retail, and financial services industry verticals.

Construction of the 9,500-square foot new facility in the heart of downtown Montreal – at 1255 Phillips Square – is already underway.   Barring unforeseen delays, the construction is expected to be concluded in April 2021.

Currently serving over 100 large Canadian enterprises across the country, TCS Canada has been operating in Canada for 30 years.

One of the Top 10 IT services providers in Canada, TCS Canada was ranked Number One Top Employer in Canada by the Top Employers Institute.

With over 5,500 employees, TCS Canada has additional offices in Vancouver, Regina, Calgary, and Toronto.

Earlier, TCS had announced its plans of expanding Ohio footprint “by hiring more than 800 local employees at its Seven Hills Park campus outside of Cincinnati and other offices across the state by 2022, to meet the evolving needs of its customers”.

As per Soumen Roy, Country Head, TCS Canada, “With its wealth of talent, artificial intelligence research ecosystem andreputation as a digital innovation hub, Montreal is the perfect place for us to expand. The new center will help us serve our customers better, recruit and develop the best local talent, and invest in the community.”
