The Govt. of New Zealand has announced reforms to the employer processes and visas. The announcement came from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
The Ministry said that it plans to make changes to the way some employers recruit temporary workers in New Zealand. The changes will be introduced between now and 2021.
Here are the changes to the Temporary Work Visa of New Zealand:
The Ministry also stated that details of all the changes are not yet available. This includes processing times, visa fee and documentation that employers and employees will need to provide along with their visa application.
Iain Lees-Galloway, Immigration Minister, said that the new reforms will benefit nearly 30,000 businesses across New Zealand. He said that all employers would need to be accredited under the new visa system. This will give them greater certainty of their ability to hire an immigrant worker. It will also give greater assurance to the overseas worker regarding the job and his employer in New Zealand.
