Thailand Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa

The Government of Thailand will launch a Long Term Resident (LTR) Visa for foreign expats, investors and digital nomads willing to settle in Thailand for a long duration. The new visa is to be launched under the second phase updates in February 2025.

The new Long Term Resident Visa does not have any minimum income and work experience requirements for applicants. The visa will also offer more benefits for sponsoring dependents. The visa is expected to make Thailand a global hub for talent and investment.

Thailand Long-Term Resident Visa Eligibility Requirements

Foreign investors, skilled professionals, digital nomads, and retired persons would be eligible for this visa if they meet the eligibility requirements stated below:

  • Must have a minimum stable investment of USD 500,000 in Thailand with assets worth at least USD 1 million.
  • No professional work experience or income is required
  • Must have a higher education and vocational education in targeted sectors
  • Revenue must be at least USD 50 million
  • Retired person must have a minimum income of USD 80,000 or USD 40,000 annually along with a Thai investment of USD 250,000.
  • Minimum health insurance of USD 50,000 for 10 months
  • Annual savings of USD 100,000, along with ESD 25,000 for each dependent

Additionally, the new LTR Visa holders can bring their spouses and all legal dependents without any limitations on the number.
