Canada has just held the third consecutive all-program Express Entry draw, inviting another 4,200 Canada immigration candidates to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada [IRCC] for permanent residence.

Express Entry Draw #164 was held on September 30, 2020 at 12:37:25 UTC.

The previous Express Entry draw was held on September 16, 2020.

As no program was specified for the latest draw, “candidates from all Express Entry programs were eligible for this round of invitations”.

Hence, those eligible in this round were those with their profiles in the federal Express Entry system and qualifying for any 1 of the following programs –

Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP]
Federal Skilled Trades People [FSTP]
Canadian Experience Class [CEC]
Provincial Nominee Program [PNP]

With the latest round of invitations, Canada has held 31 Express Entry draws in 2020 so far, issuing 78,350 Invitations to Apply [ITAs] this year.

As per the 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plan announced on March 12, 2020 – a week before the imposition of coronavirus special measures in the country – Canada plans on welcoming 341,000 newcomers in 2020. Of these, 91,800 are to be federal high skilled workers.

Even despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation, Canada remains committed to welcoming a high number of immigrants in 2021 and beyond.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score in the latest draw was 471.

As a tie-breaking rule of March 2, 2020 at 12:47:08 UTC was applied, if more than 1 Express Entry candidates had the lowest required CRS of 471, the cut-off would have been based “on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles”.

Candidates with a CRS score of minimum 471 that had submitted their Express Entry profile before the date and time specified in the tie-breaking rule were issued ITAs in the latest invitation round.

With the latest draw, Canada has issued a total of 78,350 ITAs so far this year.
