UAE PR: Indian awarded the very first “Golden Card” in Sharjah

Lalu Samuel, Chairman and MD of Kingston Holdings, became the first recipient of Sharjah’s Golden Card Visa. Mr Samuel is also the Chairman of The Sharjah Industry Business Group. This works under the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

The 10-year long Golden Card Visa was issued by the GDRFA-Sharjah (The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs-Sharjah). It was presented to Mr Samuel by the Exec. Director of Foreign Affairs and Ports in Sharjah, HE Brig. Arif Mohd. Al Shamsi.

 

The “Golden Card” Visa is the new Permanent Residency Scheme in the UAE. It has been rolled out to 6,800 residents and investors in the UAE who have an estimated worth of more than 1 billion AED. The Golden Card Visa was introduced to encourage entrepreneurship and also to attract more foreign investment into the country.

 

The validity of the Golden Card Visa is 10 years after which it may be renewed.

 

UAE implemented the Gold Card Scheme in 2018 as per the Cabinet decision No. 56. Under this scheme, a host of facilities has been offered to Entrepreneurs, Investors, and talented people meeting certain requirements. The facilities are extended to their families as well, as per The Khaleej Times.

 

In his speech, Mr Samuel thanked the GDRFA for introducing him to the Golden Visa Scheme. He also said that this initiative will support the investment sector in the UAE. This initiative will also help to highlight the importance of tolerance, cultural diversity and acceptance of all communities in the UAE. This will, in turn, ensure family stability, added Mr Samuel.

 

Mr Samuel also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the wise leadership of the UAE. He specifically thanked the Ruler of Sharjah- HH Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohd. Al Qasimi for his undying support to investors and businessmen in the UAE.
