The US Citizenship and Immigration Services celebrated the US Independence Day between June 28 and July 05, 2024. The US held around 195 naturalization ceremonies to welcome 11,000 new citizens as a part of Independence Day celebrations. These ceremonies highlight the commitment to welcome expats and promote the advantages of obtaining US citizenship.
July 04 is celebrated as Independence Day to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, which declared 13 American colonies as a new nation. Special naturalization ceremonies are conducted nationwide with the theme of US Independence Day.
The Independence Day celebrations of 2024 comprised special naturalization ceremonies across the country. A ceremony was held at Mount Vernon, and the Deputy Assistant to President Blas Nunez Meto participated. Independence Day ceremonies were also held at the following places:
The USCIS is committed to facilitate the naturalization process for all eligible applicants. Several steps have been taken by the USCIS to implement Executive Order 14012. The USCIS has also expanded the Citizenship Ambassador program to spread information and assistance about immigration processes.
According to a recent announcement, US Citizenship and Integration Grant Program will provide $2.6 Million in funding in 2024. The USCIS is also trying to streamline naturalization processes for spouses and families of US Army personnel and veterans.
