The US officials to issue more student visas for joining US universities in this 2022 year, in contrast to 2021. Around 62,000 student visas were issued last year. US Embassy advised students not to get disappointed if the students were unable to book a visa appointment in the first allotment.

The US Embassy in India has just opened appointments for students who want to join their universities by August. The students who applied for the student visa categories F, M, and J and also have an I-20 can now book their interview slots. The interviews will be taken place from August 14, tweets to the embassy.
In May, the US made a statement to open the first tranche of student interview slots for June and July 2022.

The US Embassy, Delhi, and the Indian Consulates opened student visa interviews last year. Due to the pandemic, many students planning to join US universities have received I-20 student documents from the universities but were waiting for a long time for the interviews.
The US embassy stated that considering the current scenario, the embassy will be focussing mainly on the students for June, July, and August and will be opening the slots for the remaining days of July and the first half of August shortly.
The US embassy has eased the rules and announced giving a second chance to the student visa applicants who were refused visa interviews in the past. And the students can check for appointments in the second half of August, and those can have a second chance at the interview.
