US firms must hurry up now to hire staff on H-1B

The H-1B Visa program permits US firms to provisionally hire overseas workers. This is in job roles that need the practical and theoretical application of highly expert knowledge. It requires a Bachelor’s or higher degree.

The Fiscal Year 2020 H-1B filing period commences on 1 April 2019. This is for US firms that intend to recruit by sponsoring a whole-time H-1B worker. This is for FY 2020 that runs from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020.

The filing period for H-1B is typically open for just a week. This is because of the huge volume of applications received by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services. It swiftly surpasses the numbers of available US Work Visas, as quoted by the Nat Law Review.
